Softball season has arrived and I have so much to write about but not enough time to do it.
I didn't expect to be saying this already but I've found a job. It was actually the first interview that I went on. I felt pretty confident that things went well during the interview but I knew that there were other applicants. I didn't hear anything for a few days but then they called me to go back in for a 2nd interview. I met with the VP of Product Management and he actually offered me a better position than the one I had interviewed for. I was overwhelmed yet very excited. The company is growing and this is a new position.
I'll be their Associate Buyer. I'm doing many of these functions in my current job but I don't have that title. It will be challenging but I'm looking forward to it. This is a great oppotunity for me and something that I'll be happy to have on my resume in the future. I start on June 4th.
The manager that I'll be reporting to is very nice and he has a family and says that the company is very flexible when it comes to leaving for appts and school functions during the day. I felt very comfortable with him and I feel that we'll work well together.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous though. It's been almost 4 years since I started working from home. I need to buy some new clothes although I have seen many of the girls in the office wearing jeans and a nice top. Unfortunately, once I come home from bringing K to school I throw on pajama bottoms. I've been slowing buying some new clothes. I wish that I could get the shopping done all in one trip but I have such a bad time finding clothes that look nice on me. My weight is all in my middle and I hate my body.
Okay, enough of that.
K has shown an interest in musical productions. I saw that Oliver was being performed at the local vocational high school so we went. Wow! It was awesome! I had to keep reminding myself that these were high school students, they had amazing singing voices and acting skills. K thoroughly enjoyed herself also. She's been singing the songs since.
