Spring is here. It's lovely. The kids are enjoying it too. They love spending so much time outside. Chad putters around in the yard and garage while they play. I love how they smell after they come in.

I've started the South Beach Diet on Sunday. I'm a carbaholic and it's been a challenge but I today is the first day I feel good so maybe I've passed the carb/sugar withdrawal stage. I weighed myself this morning and I lost 6 lbs since Sunday. I'm not hungry but I find breakfast a challenge.

K's follow up appointment with the pediatric rheumatologist was Tuesday and she got a clean bill of health. Her ANA is still elevated but every other lab has come back normal. They are thinking that the joint pain and elevated ANA was probably due to mono and she is just taking a long time to recover from that. Which I believe also. The past few weeks she has started to feel much better, no complaints of joint pain and her fatigue has let up. The other possibility is that she will always have an elevated ANA which will be normal for her. She doesn't have to go back to see them for a year unless she starts complaining or having other symptoms.

I'm having a terrible time sleeping at night. Lately, I find myself still awake past 1:00am. It's starting to catch up with me. The past 3 days I have felt so exhausted but I get into bed and can't sleep.

Both of my girls are going to be flower girls in two different weddings in June. Gah! Kaelyn is going to be in my cousin's wedding at the end of June. We've already gone and ordered the dress. It is lovely. My brother is getting married at the beginning of June and they have asked if Lindsey can be the flower girl. I don't know if it is a very good idea but I can't say no. They've been through so much and if this is what they want it's the least I can do for them.

I've entered Lindsey into the lottery for the integrated pre-school program that our school district offers. I hope that she gets in because the teacher is just great. Kaelyn was in the program for two years. Lindsey gets upset every single day when we drop Kaelyn off at school. We'll see what happens.

My parents called this morning to say that they made it safely to Florida. Their flight arrived in Orlando at midnight and by the time they got their luggage and rental car they didn't arrive at my aunt's house until 2am. Unfortunately by the time they planned this trip there weren't many flight options left.

On Tuesday the temperature here isn't supposed to get above 18 degrees. I'll be jealous of them because they'll be visiting Sea World and I'll be freezing. To make me feel better I'm going to cook a pot of corn chowder and make some yummy bread to go with it. That will keep us warm.
